As in the case of make-up, when you choose your cleanser, look for something "oil-free" and "non-comedogenic". If you have inflammatory acne, also avoid scrubbing cleansers, that will irritate your skin even more. Use something gentle instead, something that will leave your skin clean, without being over-dry, red or itchy.
You should cleanse twice a day : once in the morning and again in the evening , before bed. Always try to be as gentle as possible to your skin, in order to avoid further irritations. You can use your fingers to spread and massage the cleansing lotion over the entire face and then rinse very, very well. You can do this twice for a better result, but be careful and avoid using anti-acne products in the sensitive areas of the face, such as the skin around the eyes or the lips.If you are using a bar soap, use one which is PH balanced. For example, if the PH is very high, the soap is going to dry and irritate the skin. If you have very oily skin, you must look for something with very little moisturiser, just enough to protect your skin during cleansing. In case of acne, generally highly moisturising cleansers should be avoided.
